WHAT FLORIDA PHYSICIANS SAY
"Selecting and implementing an EMR is a process. It requires

"Make sure you know WHY you are investing in electronic tools for
your practice so you can select an EMR partner that will help you
reach those goals.... on day one."

“Having an EMR for over ten years has significantly improved our
ability to manage patients, save time and limit overhead.”
Phil Tally, MD

“I started using an EMR in 1997 in my solo orthopedic practice
before it was a popular thing to do. At first the office staff
resisted because it was new, no one else was doing it, and change is
tough. Within 3 months the grumbling stopped, and after 6 months
they were not only happy with it, they were promoting it to other
offices. The office staff ended up benefiting from it much more than
I did. Charts were never lost, information could be found in seconds
with a keystroke, and the office was neater because there were no
chart stacks. We put only new patients in the EMR system at first,
and then gradually put in the old patients if they had chronic
problems that would be continually under my care. Within 2 years we
were totally paperless. We figured that at the 2-year mark we had
paid for the system with increased efficiencies and thereafter we
were coming out ahead each month, in addition to doing a better job.
The systems are better now, the computers cheaper, and with due
diligence in choosing the right system for your practice, every
doctor should go ahead and get started moving into the 21st
century.”
